Les Elliott
B.Com (Financial Management)
Les Elliott established ASCM’s presence in Mauritius in 2007. He is both Managing Director and chair of the investment committee that takes all investment decisions. Mr Elliott has primary oversight of the portfolio managers and analysts in Mauritius in addition to himself covering the US and European markets. He was previously with Beacon Capital Management in the British Virgin Islands. Mr Elliott was a member of the Circle Charitable Trust in Mauritius and is a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.
Gary Todd
B.Com (Hons), HDip Tax
Gary Todd joined ASCM as Financial Director in 2009. He is a member of the investment committee in Mauritius with specific focus on portfolio management for the African frontier market mandates. Mr Todd is additionally responsible for all financial control at ASCM, including compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and is a long-standing member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.
Gregory Soobaya
CFA
Gregory Soobaya joined ASCM in 2013. He is responsible for numerous portfolio management functions on the ASCM investment committee. Mr Soobaya is primarily focused on the emerging markets universe where ASCM is particularly active. He was previously at MCB Investment Management on their fixed income and currency desk. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a degree in Actuarial Science from Cass Business School, London.
Mohamed Zeghari
MiM
Mohamed Zeghari joined ASCM in 2018. He is primarily responsible for leading due-diligence and conducting research relating to the technology-focussed All Seasons Venture Partners investment platform. Mo worked previously with Mauritian-based African private equity firms where he specialised in the banking, infrastructure and resources sectors. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Strategy from Kedge Business School in France.
Hubert Steenkamp
BBusSci, MBA
Hubert Steenkamp is an Investment Analyst at ASCM focussing on alternative investments. Hubert previously worked as a portfolio manager for a South African Equity/Long Short hedge fund and prior to that, as an investment analyst and fund manager for a niche private client wealth management business. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and earned an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business.
Jason Barr
B.Com (Hons) Finance
Jason Barr had been a Director of ASCM since 2007. He is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Mauritius. Mr Barr is also a Mauritian-licenced corporate trustee and fiduciary and provides the board of ASCM with guidance on matters relating to operations and governance. He is a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.
Ritesh Kheeroo
BEng (Aeronautical Engineering)
Ritesh Kheeroo joined ASCM in 2014. He is the Head of Risk Management with primary responsibility for maintaining and developing the proprietary portfolio management systems used in fund assembly, performance attribution and risk oversight. Mr Kheeroo was previously a trader for Mercury Derivatives in Mauritius before joining Bourse Africa Mauritius as an executive in the clearing and settlement department.
Fayzaan Kurrimbaccus
ACCA
Fayzaan Kurrimbaccus is responsible for fund accounting at ASCM. He was previously with Cim Global Business in Mauritius where he was involved in fund and company formation, structuring and administration, company secretarial, accounting, taxation, compliance issues and customer due diligence checks. Mr Kurrimbaccus is a qualified accountant and member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Kavita Jeetoo
Kavita Jeetoo joined ASCM in 2008. She is currently Operations Manager responsible for overseeing all middle and back-office functions of the firm. Mrs Jeetoo also assists with corporate administration of the ASCM funds, corporate secretarial for the firm, service provider liaison and regulatory filings with the Mauritian authorities.
